Dear Readers,
And so my journey has officially begun. Crocodile tears have been shed, knees have been shaken, palms have been clammy and now my patience is being tested as i wait for my transfer flight from London to Kuala Lumpur.
Yes you read that right, before heading east, they wanted to me to take a trip back “home” first. But hey what can i say? I get to savour English food, hear the London accent, have a shopping spree (basically me drooling over handbags, scarves, boots and everything that costs just as much as my whole trip) and finally write to you and watch Netflix until my hearts content, or more realistically, until my battery dies…
Anyhow, to fill my waiting time i shall write you about the adventures that await me this week:
First stop: Kuala Lumpur, where i shall be trekking through the Taman Negara rainforest which is apparently the oldest rain forest on the planet. (Not my words, that’s what the travelagents tell me!)
I will be walking through the forest in which i will be desperately hoping not to bump into any spiders or any creepy crawlies for that matter…
I will also be walking along the tree tops & across rope bridges in a small group… not too sure if that’s such a good idea with my fear of heights but guess we’ll find out soon enough. 🤷♀️
A boat will take us along the river and we shall then visit a waterfall.
And when the sun sets we shall still be hiking through the rainforest to hear everything and who knows maybe spot a few fireflies.
*This is not all done in one day by the way, if so i think i’d rather run a marathon but there we go.
After the rainforest it is back to Kuala Lumpur only to travel down to Singapore.
In Singapore the plan is to visit the botanical gardens again, the gardens by the Bay and maybe a trip to China Town if I have enough time.
After Singapore it’s off to Thailand for a group trip for two weeks before heading out on my own for a month…. eek! My knees are starting to buckle again so I shall leave it at that and hope to write to you all soon!
Lots of love,
G.
